I've purchased warranties on many of things, and then there are some things I probably should have gotten one for but I did not. Usually it's the sales person trying to push a warranty down my throat at several different price points, starting at the top and working his/her way down. But tonight, I must say, I was totally shocked when the sales person replied yes to MY question of "does this thing come with a Warranty?"
Yes folks...it's a binder! A plain, 3", white, three ring binder for my thirteen year old son. His school gave him his first one 10 weeks ago, and last year he had what I referred to as a Lamborghini version with all the bells and whistles, so I had no idea the price tag on this Pinto when I walked into the office supply store. What I was not expecting was a price tage of $11.99!! I'm not cheap by any means, but really.... it's a binder!!
The next thing I know, the words just came out of my mouth "$11.99...does this thing come with a warranty!!??" The reply from the sales person working in the isle...."I think it might"! Obviously I was kidding, but he wasn't! For the price of $4.99 Office Depot offered me a Standard Replacement Plan for a 3 ring binder!!...and get this...it's a 2 year warranty!!
Okay, so you probably think I've lost my mind...right? I'm sure you're wondering why I would want to purchase a warranty on a binder...right? You're probably saying, go to Walmart, I'm sure you'll find it cheaper next time. What a waste, you'll never use it! I got two words for all of you ~"EXHIBIT A" ~ and we still have 7 more months of school to go!
Unveiling with a peace of mind,

Love the post! Will wait to hear the reat of the story.. have a peace of mind kind of week!
Thanks Regina, I'm certain we'll go through at least two more before the end of school! lol
WOW! That's a well-used binder!
LOL. Oh the memories. Remember to enjoy all these little things. It's so fun to hold things over your kids heads when they have their own children.
@Loretta, it's fun to hold them over his head now, LOL. @ Lori, your little one is soo cute, he'll never have a binder like this one!...but if he does I wanna know, lol.
Too funny - it looks like you've photographed my son's binder! :) He's very hard on them too - usually going through one each quarter of the school year. I will definitely check into the warranty - I would never have thought of that! Also, if your son is as hard on bookbags as mine is, you might want to check out military surplus backpacks - Sportsmans Guide usually has them. I've found that if the bag is designed to survive a war zone, it can survive high school and homework!
ha ha, Rena I love the backpack idea, and will definitely look it up this evening. So far this year he's doing okay with that..it's obvious he's not using it much from the looks of the binder eh? lol
