Runako Designs - Help Me Fight Poverty

"1.2 billion people around the world - one out of every five people alive - struggle to survive on less than $1 a day"...

Several posts ago, I told you I was trying to come up with a way to raise some money to donate to Beads for Life. When I posted the photo of the bracelet I had made for myself, I never thought that would be my initial start; however, I almost sold that one straight off my arm! Instead, I offered to make two more to sell to the customer as I was pretty fond of the clasp I had used. I also got another neat idea from a friend, that I'll be trying with my next purchase of beads, but for now, I have 10 more bracelets that need a new home:

Kaleidoscope of Life

I call this the Kaleidoscope of Life bracelet. It sales for $25.00 + shipping, made using recycled paper beads by a group of women in Uganda. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of this bracelet will go to Bead for Life, a non-profit organization that supports community development projects in health, education, employment, and housing to the impoverished in Uganda. Other components include a Silver Hill Tribe accent bead and clasp from Thailand, another Fair Trade favorite and glass spacer beads. This bracelet is more beautiful in person, because of the wonderful colors. I get compliments every time I've worn it. Each bracelet comes with a pamphlet that tells the story behind Beads for Life, so that you can share with others.

If you are interested in purchasing one of these exclusive bracelets, please email me directly at dgordon@runakojewelry.com with your request.

Dee
