Wednesday's Word - Cold!!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr, it's cold outside!!  The past week, the temperature here has dropped drastically.  Ever since the snow came through last Friday, it seems to be dipping daily.  It probably wouldn't be so bad if the wind had not come with it, but so it is.  As you know from a post earlier this year, Summer is definitely not my favorite season. I'd rather be cold any given day, then hot and uncomfortable.  The way I see it - I can put on more clothes, but there's only so much I can take off, especially outside the house, when it's hot.  So the fitting word for the day is COLD!  Nope, no complaints here, I'm happy to see winter after 104 degrees this summer.  The following is what the word COLD means to me:

COLD
My excuse to go shopping for the latest and greatest winter hats
Time to stock up on popcorn, hot cocoa, soup and warm tights
weekly monitoring of weather.com looking for snow alerts
Another excuse to to shopping..this time for new boots
No more chirping birds outside my window at night
Cold nose, cold ears, cold fingers and cold toes
Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday is coming
Sanitize everything moving and not moving
Stay away from me if you are sick...really
Time to switch to winter oil in the car
Shoveling snow and raking leaves
Time to weather proof the house
Sweaters, gloves and scarfs
Increase in Electricity bill
Cold morning floors
Extra blankets
Weight gain
Short days
Flu

Wednesday's Word - Christmas

I'm going to do my best to make Wednesday a word day.  And how appropriate is it that today just happens to be the first day of December- my favorite month!  Today's word is...you guessed it, or rather you've seen it by now ~ CHRISTMAS!

Christmas just happens to be my most favorite time of the year.  I so enjoy listening to Christmas music and sitting in my living room in the evening watching the lights on the tree, such a tranquil moment in a season of such hustle and bustle.  We're past the Santa stage at our house, so the past few years, I've had to get creative with making sure that the spirit of Christmas is present, and that the excitement and the joy of the season stay alive in our home. Here is what Christmas means to me:

Christmas
Christians celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ
Time to watch old christmas movies with family
Chestnuts roasing on an open fire or not
Time spent with family and friends
Over spending and over eating
My favorite time of the year
The season of joy
Christmas songs
Online shopping
Crowded malls
snow days
traveling
traffic
love
